PROUD TO BE UNION...
The Oklahoma City AFT (OKC-AFT) prides itself on the
high level of service we deliver to teachers.
You are our number one concern.
Service includes grievance representation; representation
in complaint hearings; everyday problem solving in matters
concerning contract enforcement, payroll discrepancies, job
security, working conditions and dozens of other categories.
Four full-time staff reps working only for Oklahoma City
teachers, are trained to give you the excellent service and
representation you deserve. Our
reputation as active problem solvers was earned -- and we’re
proud of it.
Since 1978, you have elected
the OKC-AFT to be your exclusive bargaining agent.
The result of our bargaining expertise is a master contract
which we believe is the best in the state.
One
of the cornerstones of a good contract is enforcement.
Your Union’s diligence in making sure our contract is
enforced is a matter of record.
That’s why most teachers contact the OKC-AFT when a contract
violation has occurred.
As
an OKC-AFT member, you also enjoy our Two Million Dollar professional
liability insurance and
legal defense
policy, free with your membership -- protection every
teacher needs. And of
course you don’t need to dial a 1-800 number for this
protection.
Our
Union is people - people like you who have direct, democratic input
into the workings of the Union. You have a voice in Your Union, Make it Heard!
PROUD
TO BE SERVING YOU...
The
Union regularly provides professional development training for
teachers through the Mike Allen Teacher Training Institute (MATTI),
continually working to upgrade the quality of education for our
students.
The
officers and the leadership of OKC-AFT are committed to building on the Union’s history of
achievement. Continued
gains can be more easily attained if we all do our fair share. Someone once said that showing up is ninety percent of life.
If you are not already a member, why not do what’s fair and
show up -- join the AFT today and we will continue to accomplish
great things -- together.
Call our office at 528-0801 and
